Thanks so much, everyone. Quiltmaniac, it is my first quilt ever. I made a Christmas tree skirt as my first quilting project, but this was my second project and my first quilt. I had sewn at various times in my life, so I certainly wasn't a stranger to a sewing machine, but I had never quilted before. I am a knitter and an embroiderer, and I am also very particular and fussy when it comes to making something - both advantages to a quilter, I'm sure. Thanks so much for the compliment.

This was the first quilt I ever made. I fell in love with the pattern since I'm a sailor. I made it in aqua because I didn't know if we were having a boy or a girl at the time I started it. I figured that girls liked sailboats too - I sure do. I backed it with champagne-colored Minky. My LAQ used a wave pattern for the quilting. I had her go over the applique with the quilting because I wanted it sturdy enough for many washings. The pattern was a Bunny Hill Baby pattern called Cape Cod Baby. The fabrics were Lily & Will II by Bunny Hill Designs for Moda. Thanks for looking.
