I'm working on one of these quilts now and have 48 flowers finished and about 1/2 of those with the second row around them. I know this will be a long project as I do it while traveling or watching TV. I'm doing mine in 30's reproduction fabric. I have a quilt top that my great grandmother made with this method only its triangles. My Dad, who would be 100 if alive, told me he remembered as a small boy sitting next to her and handing her the different colored pieces of fabric. I'm planning on hand quilting it but may change my mind when its finally finished! Yours is beautiful and what a wonderful experience sharing this with your sisters! Nicely done!

Lovely quilt and so full of happy memories with your sisters. Your quilting is awesome! The only batting that would be lighter in weigh would be a poly batt such as Quilters dream poly.

Lovely quilt, and a great job on a complicated pattern. I'm sure your mom will love your quilt, especially coming from her daughters.

Wow! That is so beautiful! It's great that your sister made the hexagons also as that will make it extra special to her. I have 24 of the hexie flowers finished using a one inch hexie. I will need quite a few more and then need to start on the white hexies. Is your white a solid white or a white on white? Love your GFG!
