I wear nothing but Clark's leather mules. Most comfortable shoe I've ever found.

You may have to have a pair of insoles made for you because dress shoes tend to have sorry support. You may also be able to find a pair of Dr. Scholes(?) insoles that work for you. You will have to take them with you to try on shoes because generally you will need to buy a little larger shoe for the insoles.

I agree - SAS is a great shoe, great support. It is the only brand I wear. They have loafers, tennis shoes, walking shoes (my favorite) and sandals to name a few. Made in the USA. I have back problems and the SAS shoe is the only one I have tried that doesn't hurt my back after long hours on my feet.
Look for a SAS store and they will fit your shoes properly. Even my podiatrist said you couldn't find a better shoe...

For me it is Merrell, Clarks, Patagonia, Natural Sport or Natural Spirit, SoftSpots, and New Balance.

I love Clarks and Merrells--I have bunions and do a lot of walking. Plus, I need decent arch support. These brands are relatively affordable and very comfortable. Merrells last forever. Clarks are quite stylish and hold up well too. I just got some Clarks (low boots and a pair of knee boots) for a total of $150 at the outlet. Macy's had the low boots for $130 alone!
If you don't have an outlet nearby, www.6pm.com offers good prices on shoes online. Try them on in a store then wait to find them online for the best price : )

Dress shoes....Munro's and Fidji at Nordstrom are my favorites. Pricey, but I can wear them all day. Fidji's have a small heel yet don't feel like you are wearing heels at all. Not every style works but when I find one that does, I know I should get a couple pairs in different colors! Right now, I'm good for a few years : ) Fidji styles are quite unique and attractive. Made in Portugal.
