Wow, Kathleen! That quilt is stunning. I can see why it has won awards. Great job!

I made a 1600 quilt out of a jelly roll that was given to me. I didn't really like the jelly roll to begin with and I like it even less now that it is a 1600 quilt. I was going to donate it and can't bring myself to finish it because I don't like it. I will have to cut it up, maybe I will like it more. I have thought about cutting it up but never did. Good idea. I love yours.

Peggi, thanks for the idea. For the past two days, I have worked on a jelly roll 1600 quilt. I cut my own strips from my stash. My plans are to make it into one of those 'shawl' type of wraps for nursing home patients. I don't really like the pieced top. Now with your idea, I will cut it into strips again today and resew. I think I'll like it better. After I quilt it, then I will cut out the 'neck' space and then bind. Thanks for your idea.

Thank you this was just what I needed. I was going to start a Jelly roll but was not sure I really liked some that I saw that the colors seem to be concentrated in 2 lines. My friend suggested cutting it and resewing it but I was not sure it would work. You have made me see it in a new light. I never thought about the appliques either, decision time! I have to get over a New Years party here first than I can start. Again Thank you, this site is great I do not even have to ask the questions and the answers appear.
