Default Can someone help me with a decision?

I need to decide on buying a used Juki 98Q or a new 2010 and need your advice. The price isn't that much difference. I'm hoping that someone who has experience with both might have some insight. Thanks

I've been researching them also. What I have found for differences from looking at the specs on each are that they are the same machine, but the 2010 is a newer model. The 2010 has these added features:

    variable sewing speed control
1/4 quilt foot (in addition to the 1/5 quilt foot)
    zipper foot
    hemming foot
    compensating foot

I was talking with my repair guy and he said that either model is great. The feedback I got on here was that it is reliable and needs little if any service.

I would be happy with either myself. I would base my decision on what deals you can find. The prices are basically the same, but some dealers throw in more perks like bobbins/needles, free shipping.

just an FYI, my Juki TL98Q came with the zipper foot and the 1/4" foot... so they are not new with the 2010

If there is little difference in price, I'd go with the new one - it should a warranty of some sort.

Look carefully at the throat sizes. I can't remember them at the moment . I would select the machine with the largest throat for quilting.
