some of you asked me about the translation from centimeters to inch. Here you can do it!
http://www.pats-pets.de/cm-inch.htm
put your cm (centimeters) in the second box and push the button "umrechnen" (translate) than will you get the INCH ! If you need further measurements, so you must push the butten "löschen" (delete) . After that you can translate again from cm to inch and again you put the data of centimeters in the second box

Hope it helps

Hey all, I went through and converted the items for block 1 to inches in case you haven't yet. I'm sorry for the mix of decimals and fractions, I used different sites at different times.

- Finished block size: 7.87 x 22.83
- Block size including seam allowance: 8 15/32 x 23.42

Cut:
1a beige with beige roses 5 5/16 x 4 17/32
1b pink plaid/gingham 3 47/64 x 4 17/32
1c white with little roses 8 15/32 x 17 1/8
1d gray plaid/gingham 8 15/32 x 2 61/64

I haven't finished the block yet but so far, so good.

Thanks!

Just looked and the February block is now available. This is just too cute. I started it, but have changed it a whole bunch.

I have many things of my grandmothers, mothers, etc., and am going to sew them onto the quilt. Mom's old pin cushion that was behind the door at the farm has a new home, grandma's embroidery scissors have a new home, as do some buttons, spools of thread, hookd, eyes, you name it, it is in their sewing boxes.

I'm not sure how many of the actual blocks I will do, but when I'm finished my sampler, I will have many things from people who were very near and dear to me. Right now I have mainly made blocks that have small blocks on them that I can sew things on to.

I am considering printing a picture of my grandmothers and mom onto fabric and making that part of the block that their items are part of.

Thanks for the link. This is cute! I looked on my tape measure and it has both centimeters and inches so I can convert the measurement myself. I think I may do my scrappy to use some of them.
