I have an HP Photosmart & I have scanned a quilting design into my computer..... my quilting book says I'm supposed to "Reproduce at 200%" so....when I try to print it.... with no scaling..... I've changed the top line to 200% but it has printed out even smaller than the original, bleah! Can anyone give me a hint, or should I give up & take it to town & have it enlarged on a photocopier? Thanks!

hmmm, i've taken large items to the copy place myself. this new printer isn't friendly to me for enlarging.

Take your copy to FEDEX business store and and enlarge it on the large scale printers. The clerks are usually very helpful and the paper is of good quality.

is your machine a printer or an all in one? if it is just a printer, you will not be able to enlarge the copy. if it is an all in one, you should have the capability to enlarge/reduce on the display pad.

i've always scanned into the computer----sized it on the computer- then printed the size i want- (the size i have it on the computer) that's the reason for scanning it-so you can size it- otherwise you could just print with out scan- it's easier though to just go to a copy shop- (sometimes)
but you should be able to size it on your computer.

Make sure there's not a MINUS sign in front of the 200%...............just in case......

Our office copy machine will only copy up to 120%. If I want larger I enlarge 120%, then take that copy and enlarge 120%, and so on until I get the size I want. Your printer may have some default in it that doesn't allow you to print larger than a certain percent.

It would probably be easier - and cheaper, depending on what kind of ink your printer uses, since copier toner is much less expensive - to just take it to your local Kinko's and have it enlarged.

Thank goodness you asked. I have been going nuts trying to do the same thing. I too have an HP and can't enlarge any % either. Guess this answered our question. Thanks for asking...on the way to Kinko's...thanks

I too have a HP photosmart. Don't use it for copying pics tho. I found out that u can't enlarge on this 1. The one I had before could, sooo next time I'll be more diligent as to the functions. Have found out, thru trial & error, that if u enlarge on the 'view' of the document 1 or 2 times, the test square will be 1 inch.
