I just got a Singer 237
Hi everyone! I just got a Singer 237, made in France, so I've named her Fiona! Now, I know absolutely nothing about her. I did however find a place on line to download a owner's maual for free. I guess what I want to know is what is your advice about serviceing, i.e., cleaning and oiling (how much, frequency, and where at), accessories, i.e., different feet, can I drop or cover feed-dogs to learn fmq? And I already know that I need to replace the foot pedal, it gets really hot when you plug it in. Is there any way to figure out what year she was born? Thank you in advance for all your help. I am one of those that usually get on here and read posts for hours everyday without ever saying anything, but I guess I made up for it tonight! LOL God bless and hope everyone dreams of quilting!

The Singer 237 with feed-dog drop is a very nice machine. Note: There are two versions of this, one w/feed dog drop and one without.
In the last 6 months I've bought 3 of these machines. One went to my sister, one to my adult (married) son and I finally have one of my own.
Love 'em.
