Absolutely LOVE the quilt. Did the wool felt up nicely after only one washing and drying? I have "re-used" some old wool uniforms for vests, and other garments, but have had to go thru several cycles in the washer and dryer before the wool was really felted nicely.
I love the creativity of this one.........fabric placement.....even the thread used to tie the quilt...........
Will you post a pic of the back of the quilt too? Would love to see it.

I love using felted wool. I buy wool clothes at the thrift stores, cut it apart and wash it in hot water. I make a wool quilt a few year ago, I call it the ugly quilt, because I don't like the colors. It sure keeps us warm. I did not use batting, just backed it with flannel. One mistake I did make was to bind it in a light weight wool. It's a little scratchy. I plan to rebind it this year with flannel. Need to get on the that job right away.

Newby, that's a great quilt. It will be around for a long, long time. Did you make a label explaining the history of the uniforms? Hope your family will take care of it. Thanks for posting pics.
