    Good point Rhonda. 20 blades wouldn't show enough fabric to get the lovely effect you have with the kaleidoscope...

    These are so pretty! It was like a happy surprise to see the fabric first, then scroll down to see the magic you popped out of it! I copied Dresden Kaleidoscopes so I could search for the method, then saw you have a tutorial. I just bought a Dresden ruler and now I know what I'll do with it!

    I would imagine you could. I just prefer the rounded edge than teh pointed one. You also wouldn't want to use a blade that is too skinny or you wont' have much of a pattern to repeat well. so if you have a template for a dresden that has 24 blades in it you may lose the kaleidoscope effect. too little pattern to show up well. this is just my opinion as I have never tried it with one that has so many more blades in it. also that sort of thing is in the eye of the quilter if you like it that way or not.
