Woohoo! I posted pictures last Saturday of my 2 year old UFO. (Post #129) I officially finished it yesterday afternoon! I'm so happy. And so glad I didn't cut it down to a more manageable size. I learned a lot this week! Mostly I resigned my idea that I NEEDED a long arm to quilt. This quilt is 110x105!!! And I did it on my lil 'ol domestic machine... I told my husband he just saved $15,000. That's A LOT of fabric!!!

Oh, I'll post my other pictures on the other UFO thread.

dublb, love your pony blocks. I would like to see a pick of all of the ones you've completed. I just love the patriotic theme.

It helps when ya have a good pattern. All o' the PC quilters have made wonderful blocks. Just remember Carrie's? They are all beautiful!

I have finally complete the top of the t-shirt quilt I have been working on for 1 yr now. So it is finally finished, now to get the backing for it. The person I am making it for said she wanted a microfiber for the durabality of it. I am not sure it that will be a good fit for a quilt. they are thinking because you can buy the microsuede/microfiber bedspreads that is should work.

Any ideas on that? I am trying to give them what they want but also will be quilting it on my home machine. It is queen size, just havent measured it completely for the exact measurements.

I am hoping to have this done within the next month, considering I am only able to work on it on the weekends.

I think I'd try to interest her in a microfiber sheet. The T shirts alone have to be heavy.

Holy cow! You have my admiration. I do not think I could ever wrestle that much fabric under my machine to quilt it. Does your machine have a slightly bigger throat? I decided that anything bigger than a twin size for me goes off to the LA quilter. Your quilting is wonderful, too! My deepest appreciation for your efforts!

SheriR, that is wonderful!!!! Ditto on the proud of you.

Microfiber? Uh, domestic machine quilting? That will be a great challenge. Cotton fabric will work the same, expecially if you stabilized all the tshirts. I don't use sheets for the backs of my quilts, very difficult to quilt thru, even on the longarm, stitches don't always secure easily. Polar fleece maybe, but if they are cotton tshirts, cotton backing works very well. Just my opinion. I know, keep customer happy. I've made a few of those tshirt quilts and used cottong flannel for back. Worked well.

Dublb, nice selection of blocks, keep up the good work. Just think, you are a third of the way done!

I did finish the top of the cancer quilt. Thanks Fraew for the setting arrangement block. I did do that one, but had to end up making my blocks 16", which was good anyway because it gave me a better secondary pattern with the cornerstones. Will post a photo when I get there, clumsy me, fell, bruised self up and set back into overload again. Still finished that top. Now to pick some backing and get it quilted.
