    Default Mary Jo's Fabric Store

Golly gee! Just back from my first ever trip to Mary Jo's in Gastonia, NC. I've never seen so much quilting fabric in one place in my life. Unbelievable! The reproduction fabrics were amazing, hundreds of bolts of them, i came home with over 40 yds. of fabric, including 4 huge pieces for backings at $1.99 a yard. I think i'll stay up all night and touch them. If you ever are in the area, be sure to check it out!

I will! It sounds great. I never imagined you could buy fabric that cheaply. I recently visited Whittle's in Edmonson County, Ky and they had pretty fabric for $3 - $5 a yard. I was amazed at that. Enjoy your stash.

Mary Jo's is awesome, but I have a special memory of that store. After a week long motorcycle trip through W.V. Mary Jo's was my last stop on my way back home to Atlanta. I was hot and exhausted, but not enough to forgo Mary Jo's. My husband called while I was in the store. I had told him I planned to spend the night in Gastonia, but I just wanted to be home. It was another 5 hours. I walked out of the store with my wonderful purchases, trying to figure out where I was going to add them to an already overloaded motorcycle. My husband was sitting in the parking lot in his pickup, with the ramps. We loaded the bike, I stripped off the hot leather and rode home with my feet in front of the air conditioner vent. It's one of my favorite memories of him. Now when I visit Mary Jo's, I take a moment to remember him meeting me there. Okay, crying now, but just wanted to share that.

I got there a last year and found fabric to create a WV quilt for my husband. I bought so much, I easily hid two different WV logo fabrics in my pile. It was so much fun to have found so many treasures and that special fabric for my special man. I plan on another trip soon.

You are so fortunate to be able to go to Mary Jo's! For 12 years, I lived near and went to Mary Jo's about once a week. I so miss going there! Mary Jo helped me select the fabrics for my daughter's prom dress. She is awesome! I know you are enjoying all of your new fabric. Aren't her prices wonderful!
