    Default Best Craftsy FMQ class?

Leah Day or one of the others? Opinions, suggestions? I have no experience in FMQ but I really want to give it a try.

    Thanks.

I learned the most from Ann Peterson. I think it is fmq and more. You actually make a wall hanging using the different stitches she teaches. She is very patient and is great about getting right back to you with questions you have. Of course I have every class that Craftsy offers so I have learned from all of them.

I am currently doing the free motion quilting negative space. Very good for modern quilts. Done on a long arm but you can do on DSM. Not specifically for a beginner. I also bought machine quilting: free motion and more. I have not started this class but think that it is supposed to teach beginners. Leah day is also excellent but I have only seen her free stuff on the Internet.

I have the one by Ann Peterson (Beyond Basic Machine Quilting), Leah Day (FMQ a Sampler), and Cindy Needham (Design It, Quilt It). Each has its strengths. I did my first feathers (1 month ago!) from what I learned from Ann Peterson, and they turned out well. With Leah Day, I learned that it doesn't have to be perfect, and she had lots of designs. I really liked Cindy Needham's way of basting a quilt - so far into the class, I think she's more into design and not as much into teaching the fmq. I'm glad I have all three of them - I think they complement each other.

I am still working on Leah Day's. I really love her teaching style. She tells you it is ok to make a mistake, it is part of how we learn to quilt. I took another one, the name eludes me at the moment, but I did not enjoy her style at all it was putting me to sleep.

I was wondering if that was just me!! I can't remember the name of it, but it was the first Craftsy class I took. I kept falling asleep, so I'd make a video note to go back but I never did. Wendy Butler Berns, or something like that. I did learn a lot from the class, but I couldn't stay awake!!

I also took Ann Peterson's classes and liked them as well. When I first discovered Craftsy, there weren't as many to choose from and it made it easy. Now I want to take them all but I don't have the time or the money!!
