I would choose the TV. We have a tablet and the software is similar to a phone. It is considered a mobile unit. THe TV will have a nice picture that sits up in your sewing room and you can see while using both hands. Congratulations! Enjoy any that you choose.

I agree. I have a Kindle fire and mainly use it for reading and playing a couple games.

I love Roku! It's great when the grand and her friends come over. They pick what they want movie to watch when they want to watch it. No rentals, no dvds to keep up with, they can play games, listen to music, audio books, Facebook, and post pictures and videos from their phones to the tv. The girls love modeling their outfits, videoing it and playing it back on tv. It's their own personal runway show.

I would definitely go with th TV since you said it was for your sewing room. Much more fun to watch while sewing. Plus since it has the DVD you really expand your options.......like watching quilting tutorials or other fun things! What a great gift from your company. Have fun.

I'd choose the TV. I usually have a tv show on when I'm sewing that I can mostly listen to and only look at the screen every now and then. When you are sewing, you need to use your eyes to sew. They won't be available to read a small screen. Also, you need a lot of light to sew. Will that amount of light allow you to see a Nook or Kindle?

TV for me. I have one in my sewing/bed room and the only time I use it is when I sew (or want to watch something my DH can't stand). I need very strong reading glasses when I sew and I can just look over them to watch TV. I've seen the Kindle fire and the picture is beautiful, but the screen is small enough that you would need it nearby and I would guess that the vibration of the machine, the antics of the furbaby or the fabric would knok it off a lot.

I have a TV in my bedroom/sewing room that plays DVDs and videos, as I need to have something to watch while sewing and for general "white noise" to block out the rest of the sounds in the apt. I do have a Kindle Fire that I received as a gift last Mother's Day from my kids to celebrate the fact that I had started walking again after a spinal cord injury in Feb., and I have become a Kindle Junkie since. Personally I think the TV would be more practical, just my opinion.
