Such a lovely quilt, congrats! I'd let a bold solid color wide binding (2-3") be my border to frame your fabulous work, make it more durable & give it a finished look IMHO. Border or not, it is gorgeous!

Beautiful! In my humble, and new to quilting still, opinion vote is one border just to "frame" your very beautiful work of art.

I just finished a king size quilt in this same pattern except that I made only the 16 patch squares scrappy and used a brown fabric with a subtle print and an off white fabric for the diamond pattern blocks. I did put one border on mine and I think it looks good. It works either way, but i did like it with the border.

Borders are to a quilt (especially a scrappy one) like a mat is for a nice photo -- it puts a nice professional finish on it. Love your quilt!

I always have to audition borders because no matter what I think or say the minute I get the fabric up next to the quilt it can completely change my mind. I think it would look great either way! It's beautiful!

In general, I feel that borders bring a stop to the action and this is a very active quilt. any strong dark color would do nicely.

The quilt is just beautiful as it is. I can understand your challenge regarding the borders. I think a narrow border in a neutral fabric would showcase the quilt. I have found that taking pictures of various size borders and fabric colors helps me decide my next steps when finishing a quilt. I am never without my iPad or phone when quilting.
Please let us know what you decide with a picture. Thanks for sharing.

WOW! I love your quilt! Either way would fit this quilt! Really, it is up to you if you want it larger...you'd put a border on to 'mat it'. I just finished a scrap quilt and didn't put on a border and love it that way. Nothing you do will spoil that great quilt. Love the lavenders in the quilt!
