I like the white better than the floral (now here it come) BUT I would still play with the sashing color. Maybe one of the darker colors in the print. Looks like a brown or a tan. U did a great job with the curved squares.

I played around with the blocks with different colors . The red I had clashed wasn't deep enough. So I tried butting them up together they are too disconnected like one quilter said! I then just put the black down so that the edging will be black as the sashing. I like that also but am afraid it will be too dark. So I put the light sash back with no pink cornerstone. I like that, for it keeps the blocks still in focus. The blocks aren't really laid out in the order they are to be sewn, there are more to be made.

Hi Maybe if you tried the fabric at the bottom of photo as strips, for me the pink is very pretty but too busy to lie beside your blocks. If you don't have enough material even a 1" band of plain materials making a boarder around each block before using the boarder fabric might work. Good luck love the blocks one of my favorites.

I like the light tone on tone for the sashing. It works well with the blocks.

It looks so much better with the plain sashing, but I still think it needs something to make it "pop"

Dear Mom mom,
Your blocks are really great. The sashing just doesn't complement or even "work with" the blocks though... Try using a solid or tone-on-tone version of one of the colors in your blocks for the sashing - or - introduce another solid, neutral color that will make your blocks shine. They deserve to be "showcased".

I agree with kaleda....to me the first photo with the black background works better than with the light sashing. But, you are "on the spot" and it is your creation....so go with what works for you. I am really looking forward to seeing this one finished.....don't let it become too much of a "monster".....no languishing UFO's allowed .

I think the black is to "heavy" but, I do like the idea of a dark/med color.
