The patch on the right is wrong. Has to be 5 color patches and 4 background patches for Irish Chain.

No. 1 is more like a traditional Irish Chain, except for the one block with 5 black squares. When the quilt is done, the colored squares should make a line from one corner to the next all across the entire quilt. But I love the different colored squares in No. 1. With the background and four of the block squares the same, the lines will show up when it is finished. You are using beautiful colors!

I prefer #1, but would question the gray choice for a wedding color unless I had reason to think it would be especially appreciated.
