    I tend to sort fabrics by bright or duller....but usually that ends up being that I sort by whether it has white in it (one pile) or a shade of cream/tan/beige (the other pile). I don't mix white with cream/tans/beiges.

    Personally, I love the mix of colors and values. I think it will make your quilt far more interesting.......Too much MATCHY MATCHY makes for a dull quilt, IMHO.......keep posting pics of your progress....bet this one will be really beautiful!

    I always go for muted. Bright just isn't my style. But you do as you want...its your creation Please post a photo when you are finished with it.

    It is up to you. This is where the design board comes in handy. The question is what look do you want to achieve.
    I probably would use all the fabrics together. there is always the light, medium, dark rule.
