I would have never of thought of doing it this way...so glad I found this tute. It looks so much easier and no raw edges.

I wonder if this lady knows there is water soluble iron-on stabilizer that does exactly what she is doing but in less steps... I've been using it for some machine embroidered applique so I get no frayed edges, and no tacky looking satin stitches.

I don't understand why the freezer paper, then pulling it off and gluing the stabilizer to it. You can also do more or less the same thing by cutting your applique piece and a stabilizer, muslin or the likes, the same, allowing 1/8" seam, sew right side to right side, then cut a small slice in the stabilizer/muslin and turn it inside out.
