We camp a lot and leave our old DISH receiver in the camper. We get all the channels we get at home and only pay for it the months we use it- which of course requires a call to DISH to "turn on" or "turn off" camper receiver. The fee is either $5 or $7 per month. I host at a state park campground for months at a time, so TV is a must.

The Dish Antenna can be mounted on a tripod and set up next to your RV unit at any campground (or even dry camp), or you can mount it on top of your RV. As long as you have electricity, the antenna, and the box - and of course, the TV, you're good to go. Just have to make sure you point it in the right direction.

We had Directv while in the RV. They furnished us with a tripod that you just sat outside and faced toward the south. DH could set it up in just minutes

Thanks for everyones ideas. We do not watch daytime tv but like to get the evening news. We take lots of books and puzzles and games to do in the daytime. RVing is so much fun for seniors like us.

We just use over-the-air TV in our 5th wheel. Some times we get several stations, sometimes just a couple and sometimes none at all. We have a DVD player and an old VCR player that we use in the camper also. Yes, we still have a lot of video cassettes. They work just fine!

We also see many campers with satellite dishes. To us, it is not worth the money. We usually watch only the news when we are out camping.

We seldom stay at the "fancy" parks with the cable hooks ups. We prefer state or national parks.

We have a dish antenna mounted on the roof that automatically finds the sats. it goes up and down with the push of a button.

We just got a tv with a built in dvd player. There is a digital antenna on the rv and we can usually get local stations and we take movies along for when we can't. Don't like to watch tv to much anyway.

We took the TV (an old style one) out of our class c when we bought it.

When the kids were younger for inclement weather we brought dvds and the kids watched them on the laptop.

2 years ago I pulled the dvds out and realized we had not watched any for at least 2 years.

We listen to the radio for local news and pick up a local newspaper.
