Happy B-Day! the big 5 0!!!!!!!!!! it has been a few years that I was 50-soon to be the big 6 0 is that old or what? I just know that I'm going to enjoy those years coming up, I don't plan to work hard after 60-not like my mom has done in the past -life is to short-I want to be around for my grandchildren if I have any-if I don't well that is ok, too.

How very thoughtful of your husband to do the 50 days of gifts for 50 yrs. When I turned 50, my husband spent close 500 hours carving me a western saloon. I had always wanted a doll house when I was growing up, one of those fancy ones with all the miniature people and furniture, etc., but never received one. so for my 50th birthday, while I was working my husband was carving. I received a western saloon, two stories high, with about 18 people inside, some with heads that turn, and our dog also stealing hot dogs from a table. It is one of my most precious items. It is 36 inches long, 18 inches wide and over 2.5 feet high. Even the staircase was handcarved.

How nice. What a thoughtful way to help you celebrate your 50th. Congratulations on turning a milestone and a belated Happy Birthday. I don't really remember what I rec.'d on my 50th it has been too long ago, another year and I will reach the 70th. I can picture a DH in a quilt shop, and would really be surprised if mine went in a quilt shop without me, however he does come up with surprises sometimes that I would never dream he would buy. What fun you have had and I love the idea of the cake, hope you can get some pic. posted.

Maybe you could run out and buy him 50 very small gifts, and surprise him. He might turn around and do the same for you. You could just let him know that you didn't get started early enought to make it 50 days in a row. Worth a try!
