Wow, too hot to be out walking the dogs but we couldn't wait until it cools off because the fireworks will start. They were semi relaxed so maybe we can get back to normal soon. I worked outside for an hour this afternoon. I didn't think it was too hot until I started sweeping the patio.

I have cutting to do this evening so I will cut a FQ from my acid green batik. Why that color? Because the cutter misunderstood me and cut more than I wanted so I have some to spare. I just used some in my ex's quilt for the nursing home. The staff likes it, though apparently some feel there should have been some red in it. Of course, that's what he focuses on and I hear about it. Tough.

I have to sew down the binding on a wallhanging for my daughter's sewing room (another mystery) then I have to decide whether to go back to an UFO or start a Labyrinth quilt or the batik one. Oh, I want to do a B/W D9P. Whoops, a 3 color Carpenter Star wants to get in line, too. Choices, choices.

My son is on the road today (13 1/2 hours). Safe travels for him and everyone else who has to be to work tomorrow.

Plan your meals - even the dessert or snacks so nothing sneaks up on you, drink lots of water and find a way to move your body. It has to work.

I AM losing weight and getting healthier.

I just finished cutting out most of the bag I am going to sew. I have made one Bow Tuck, and that is it. I am using two fabrics that look so nice together. One for the out side plus the handle, and the other for the inside, and inside of the same handle. It's suppose to be an over the shoulder type bag, but I guess I will see how it turns out. It doesn't call for any pockets, but I do. lol......I have included fruit and oatmeal in my choices today. I am trying to make better choices.

Cindy, I hope you are feeling better, and the rest of you too that have little energy, tired from activities, etc.
Happy Sewing! Good Food Choices! Exercise When Possible! Oh yeah, and drink that water.

Hi everyone. You all sound so busy. Glad to hear everyone is trying to eat better. I was bad last week, but I'm starting again as of yesterday. I spent yesterday morning machine quilting my new cheater quilt that I put together last month. I found this cute cheater fabric on ebay, I think it is called "Welcome Home" and I could not resist it. I added 10" muslin borders all around the 66" x wof piece that I had and made a decent quilt top with it. I backed it with the same muslin and quilted it up yesterday morning. All that's left to do is bind it and it's done.

So I have my 3 FQs sealed in the envelope and they're ready to mail out. My husband and I just had an interesting conversation. We were trying to figure out how many stamps it would take to mail it. We have the forever stamps. We've both lost track of the cost of stamps and since the forever stamps don't list the price we'll never remember what we paid for them. But if we decide how much postage we put on the envelope do we go by what the forever stamps cost now? I don't even know what they cost now. Did anyone else mail 3 FQs by using the forever stamps? If so, how many did you put on? Thanks!

Morning All . . . I really like this idea of FQs for weight loss. What a great incentive. I know it's too late this month, but I would like to sign-up for next month. Will there be an announcement for August soon or can someone point me in the direction of the Hostess?

Groovy welcome. Createfourpaws, Cindy runs this. It is a great group here, lots of good support and ideas. She will post the link for next month on here near the end of the month. Join us for discussions for the month.
I made pizza for dinner yesterday. It was so yummy. Everyone else had the traditional bread dough crust, I made a cauliflower crust for mine and it was very good and lower in calories. We also had corn from the garden. I have to watch how much I eat of that. My DH is nuts for corn and eats numerous ears of it. We have it most nights during the summer.
It is supposed to be really hot and humid here today. I am planning on trying to get in some weight training today. Not sure what Yet. I have several things pinned on Pintrest.
Lots of veggies from the garden to eat. I have no good excuse to eat bad now. I am praying for everyones health issues. Try to stay cool and eat healthy.

Will theatre popcorn be as good as a sundae? I boobooed on Saturday, had to have some theatre popcorn while watching Despicable Me 2 with the girls. Tasted so good. Went out on Friday night and was very good. Had three pieces of bread was all along with my dinner. The only thing left for me to get rid of in my quest is the coffee creamer. yep, hooked on that stuff. Once I give that up, will be good to go. I think they put something in that creamer to make you addicted. I am going to hit the green tea. Love my sun tea, but black tea is not allowed on this LifePlan Diet that my mom lost so much on. Did I tell you ladies, she lost 140 pounds in a years time. Yep, I am on a quest for those batiks this month. It was hard to send one in so would love to get it back. Createfourpaws, you should be receiving my package anytime. Sent it last week, immediately!
Thank you for the encouragement ladies. It just has to be both hormones (hysterectomy with only one ovary carrying the load) and my age have to be detriments. Well, we will show it who is boss right! Lets go girls. we may be aged, but we are still good.
