It amazes me about my sister. I inherited my grandmothers treddle sewing machine and used it for years to sew on when I was young. I gave it to my sister to refinish the wooden frame NOT knowing that she was going to throw the machine itself away! 
She is more into "family" than I am and it shocked me speechless when she died and I got the cabinet back, minus the machine.. I hope it was the Alzeheimers that made her throw it away but everytime I look at that cabinet I think of my grandmother who taught me to sew and quilt!
