It's a Moonflower and blooms in the late afternoon and night. I'm located on the Florida-Alabama line, about a hour from Ft. Walton Beach, Florida. I have them growing in my backyard now and they do come back year after year. After the blooms are gone, a seed pod appears and when you let this pod dry out completely, you will have hundreds of seed to plant the next year.

I had them in my garden ONCE and found out they are so poisonous. They are called Datura. We have a dog. We have neighbors kids and I will not allow them in the yard. I have also advised neighbors and as of this moment there is nary a Datura in our neighborhood. Edie
PS - Those seedpods are bad, bad, bad!

We call them Datura. Don't know if that is the correct name for them. I believe that they are possibly poisonous..so be careful of them around children and pets. My mom used to grow them. I think they are related to Angel Trumpets. They die back in the winter here in Alabama but are easy to grow from seeds the next year. The blooms are very pretty, aren't they?
