    I agree with Dottymo.. Piece the large red and white parts, then applique the lettering and other things.. cut out the center parts of the bigger applique pieces and just leave a half inch along the edges that you are going to applique (if you're planning on machine applique).. It will be great!!

    Welcome to the board... I hope there isn't a deadline on your quilt.. you'll need more time than you would have thought, to make up for the lost time you'll spend on here!!!

    I also like the window technique using heat and bond, it is pretty soft.

    If you appliqué with Misty Fuse, your work won't be thick or stiff.

    Thanks everyone. I think using the fusible web just on the outside edge will give me what I am looking for.
    I'll definitely reach out to the creator.
