I spray outside. I've found that even spraying a little bit inside, that spray goes everywhere. You might not see it, but every surface gets a little covering of it -- my phone, my laptop, all on the other side of the room, end up having a sticky film to them.

I spray basted a quilt outside once. All was fine until the wind came up...everything got glued to everything else. It was a mess.
