Congratulations! That is great. I smoked for over 20 years, and quit 28 years ago. I know what a struggle it can be. Stay strong!!

I quit 30 years ago TODAY!!!!! Our son said to me and I'll never forget it - "Mom, the devil is making you smoke and he wants you to DIE". And he did emphasize DIE. I didn't plan on doing that. So did I miss anything by quitting? I don't think so. Son got married, son had children, children had children, Dad passed away, Husband passed away, Mother passed away, I collect Social Security (something I never would have thought of 30 years ago. I am a great grandmother. I am still quilting. My life is good. Do I ever think about picking up a cigarette again - since this past March, you bet. But I didn't, I wouldn't and I won't.

Congratulations to you and everyone else who didn't let the devil reel you in! Now get back to your sewing. Edie

November 18 will be one year. Although I would still like to have one, I have so far held out. I quit this time for one day. A lifetime seemed too long. A day at a time I have been able to handle. Good luck on your quest!

It is the best thing you will ever do for yourself! I quit about 15 years ago after smoking 35 years. I can't stand the smell of cigarettes now. If a smoker walks by me, I can tell in a heartbeat.

My sister is a nurse and she checked my oxygen level and was impressed that it was so high since I am a former smoker. She said it just goes to show that you can recover your health after you stop smoking.

Congratulations, first of all, on being determined to give up smoking. My husband took Chantix to stop smoking and he has been nicotine free for 4 years.
