Funny, when my kids were little and they questioned me, I used to say "That's what they taught me in Mom School." They believed it for years!

I do remember these! I grew up in 50's. I wonder if any modern day parents ever say any of these? Some (not all) of today's children are never disciplined. They're allowed to "express themselves"! Thanks for posting and the reminiscing.

Expressing myself from UK. All of those sayings are familiar with me and I have always been in UK. I was out one day with my 18 month old nephew. He was fingering the buttons in open boxes in a market. Told him not to touch, 2nd time told him he was not to touch if he did it again I would tap his fingers. You guessed3rd time I tapped his fingers and he made a noise. I was told off by the shop owner for making such a lovely boy cry. My reply he was warned not to touch.
After this he never touched again but he was not crying as he knew it was his own fault.
Parents today are frightened of critism but children must learn how to behave. He is a delightful young man with manners and a lot of care, well liked by all ages.

PS. I WAS A head teacher. When we had snow I told the children they could make snowballs until I said NoMore. Why, because I said so. Also because they were not safe snowballs as they had ice in the centre. When they were dangerous all I said was no more snowballs and the whole school stopped. They did as I said.
