That is a really funny story! You should show your brother it all when you are done... hee hee. And take a picture so we can all see his face. 
I use magazine boards to organize fabric and have ordered a few hundered from Amazon. Doing some more today. I followed Alaska Sunshine's fabric folding tutorial and her folding method fits just right on Magazine boards.

Well, now I'm worried. I bought 100 a little over a year ago when I painted my sewing room and had the intention to organize it as well. I'm finally getting ready to do the organization and now I'm afraid I underestimated how many I'd need. I don't have a huge stash, but a good size one. May have to find a comic book store.

That is hilarious.
I went to the comic book shop and walked in and said "I'm looking for the boards that you put behind the comics to keep them from bending, do you have something like that?" And the guy goes "are you using them for fabric? That's how the fabric people always ask. The comic book guys all know where they'll be."
So apparently, the comic book store knows us

I can relate to using so many comic book boards. I thought ordering 6 would be more than plenty but I've run out. I had to take some of my smaller pieces of fabrics off and double them up so I'd have enough to fold the new fabrics I'd picked up at the the Fons & Porter Wearhouse Fabric Sale. Found where I had 2-3 pieces of the same fabric on separate boards, doubled them up too. Who would have known we'd use so many????

I always ask for the boards when ever the LQS has an empty bolt. They are happy to give them away as it save on their garbage. You can use them as is or can cit them down to the sizes you want or need to fit your shelves or bins & they cost me nothing.

My DH cuts boards for me out of foam core board. There is a strip left over from a sheat of board that is just right for fatqtrs. I have no idea how many boards he has cut for me but I have 7 book cases full and just cleaned off my table and wrapped some more and filled up 2 big tubs cause I ran out of shelves. No more room for any more shelves so don't know what I will do next. My shelves sure do look nice!!!
