Through my tears, I am smiling and thanking God for your kindness to a stranger. That is true hospitality, and true hospitality is love. Your gift was a true sacrifice, not just of time and material, but as you admitted, a sacrifice of something you were attached to. Isn't it the most rewarding feeling to know that, of all the quilts to gave her to choose from, she chose THIS one? That you valued her enough to give her something tangible that you had poured yourself into, speaks volumes about your heart. Thank you for giving.

What a great story. Makes you feel good doing for others. I love the quilt. I have a huge bag of 2 1/2 inch strips that were left overs from bindings. I have been wanting to put them together in a strip quilt. After seeing yours, I think I will. I really love the quilting on yours. It makes the individual blocks stand out.

Lovely quilt, excellent story. At a local soup kitchen, I also experienced a similar situation. Giving with love is SOOO good.
