Default Flannel sheets used for batting?

Did someone mention they used flannel sheets for batting. The elastic in my flannel sheets gave out and the sheets are still good. Wondering if I can use them somehow in my quilting.

I have used a flannel sheet on a quilt that has a minky backing. Worked out very well.

Many use flannel sheets for batting and for backing. All warm and toasty!

I have used flannel sheets for batting in quilts that I wanted to use as table cloths. When we lived in Florida it was nice not to have too heavy a quilt on the bed and I did use a flannel sheet for a quilt there. I had quilted it and it was and still is pretty nice(getting old, though).

I haven't used a flannel sheet, but I have used flannel yardage for batting.

In the old days when my aunt and grandmother used quilts, they used flannel sheets all the time. I can't see why it should be a problem.

I too have used old flannel sheets for batting in quilts, table runners and place-mats.
    Worked great.
