Default What do you do with these pieces?

I got a lot of these at a garage sale last week. These were in a little baggie just waiting to be sewed together. The owner passed away and her church had the most amazing sale I have ever seen. You should have been there!

I think it some kind of fence rail. How do you put them together?

Thanks in advance for your help.

looks like you might have to add more fabric
unless the middle two piece become correct the angel to go onto snow white

I would fiddle with a few pieces, filling in with blenders, or try graphing things out on paper/software.

It looks like "I spy" to me. I would take the shapes and try to join the pieces like a puzzle. Overlap the pieces by
1/4" and maybe you can see the squares as they should be. Enjoy!

I don't think it's a rail fence. I agree with ragamuffin, who encouraged you to play with the pieces as you would a jigsaw puzzle (overlapping by 1/4", of course) until you discover what the previous quilter had in mind - or (better yet) something that works and pleases you!

The rectangles with slanted cut ends could be for a braid pattern (?).

This is what I see in these shapes. Hope this helps.

I created a block showing where I think the pieces go. Unfortunately it comes up as an Adobe file. Hope you can open it. If you can't then send me a PM and I'll try to send it to you directly in another format.

I'd make a crazy scrap quilt ..... stitching other fabrics on each side until I have a block the size I want it, then stitch blocks together or do a quilt-as-you-go technique. Kids would love those quilts. Or make them mug rug size for remembering past days. Great find!

The pieces with the diagonal cut can be combined with white or a solid to make a rectangle. I saw a quilt done this way, but don't remember how it all went together. Had taken a picture with my phone, but when the phone died my pictures didn't transfer to my new phone.
