I thought a vine was what it needed for the next round, but would never be so presumptuous as to suggest it first! So, glad to hear you are thinking that.

And I do think that the entire center is way prettier in person than it seems to show in the photos. I really liked what I added, but when I posted it, it just looked ordinary. Definitely not that way in real life. Just goes to show you, eh?

Well, I love the vine idea! But I know that I will love anything you do, k, whether it is a vine or something entirely different.

If you decide to do a vine, would you want some of the flowers to broderie perse or applique with it? I can always mail you an envelope of the floral fabric, I have several yards. Or... oh heck, I don't even know what I'm saying! I want you to do your own beautiful and unique work.

I just got in from work, and I'm so tired that I called mom while I was driving to talk to me and keep me awake. So I'm going to go drool on my pillow. Mel, I'm going to try to dream of a border for your center!!

I was thinking of 'bracketing' the appliqué with a thin dark strip so as to frame it off and not detract from Esq's border, otherwise I think it might kind of blend and I think it needs the drama. Maybe what I'll do is appliqué onto a 51/2" strip for one side then 'offer it up' with the dark strips. If it works, I can trim an inch off the appliqué, if not, I can leave it full size. Gai - re the flowers, I thought just green leaves on a brown stem? But if you'd like flowers on it then by all means send some. I thought just leaves would be more dramatical though, but it's your baby so up to you!

Oh, no mam!! It is YOUR decision. And since I can't see what's inside your head, and I want this to be all YOUR border, just forget any "brain starved for sleep" silly suggestion I might have had. :P :P You have the thing in front of you so you are the only one who can judge what it needs. And I think Esq is right-- in person the actual quilts look much different than in photos. The photos just don't catch all the nuances of color and style. Soooooo,,,,,, go for it girlfriend!!

Bisous!

Oh I see what you are saying Kathyrn...that sounds like a great idea to try the framing. The leaves idea sounds great too. Gai...get some rest...you work too hard!

Gai, I am sure JoeAnne is grateful for your posting the picture, I know I am.
It is so stunning JoeAnne, you did a beautiful job. I am glad we could finally see it.
So Gai, you must be scratching your head to come up with something on this one, but I know from your past work you will do something equally as beautiful for this center.

Kathyrn since you asked for an opinion I had to go back and look at the first border. It is so hard to tell the true colors from a picture. Like someone said you can not see the nuances in the colors.
That being said, I agree with you something dark and I too like the vine idea. But that is just my opinion. Whatever you decide I know it will be beautiful.
