Ha. There have been MANY threads on this board over the last couple of years about Rowentas. People have called and written and complained to no avail. They're always told this is the first complaint the company has received, but we know that's not true because hello... we all talk to each other! They really think we're that dumb?? That company does not give a flippin' hoot about its customers.

I had my Shark Professional for about 5 months. I'd been using it daily in our quilting shop, so it had had some fairly good use. One day while at the shop, it started smoking...like the inside was on fire! Never bought another one. BTW, mine dripped water too.

Granted it may feel like they don't care and ignore complaints from consumers, but, if the word get around, like on this board, and the company's profit margin starts slipping, someone somewhere will sit up and rattle some cages........JMHO

I have the Reliable Velocity. There is no problem with the heat, steam or anything else, but the rubber stuff on the handle seems to be flaking. I thought it was something I am doing, but I saw another model in a quilt store doing the same. Has anyone else with a Reliable seen this?

It's on the side where your thumb goes so it can't be a ring doing it. (I don't have a thumb ring)

I can fix it with electrical tape if I have to, the iron itself works so well that I want to keep it.
