I, too, have Invisgrip on all my rulers. The long ruler (24") still would slip occasionally, so I bought one of the gripper/handle type things for the shower and it really helps hold that long ruler in place.

I use it on my smaller rulers mostly.

On my most used rulers I use the sandpaper dots only I cut them
into quarters and randomly space them out on my rulers. I do this
because I find that by using a smaller piece of the helps to hold the
ruler in place on the fabric, but yet allow it to still be moved easily.

The full round dots are to much "grip" for me which is why I like to
cut them.

I read where many people was using rubber glue on the backs of the
rulers. So I thought ok lets try that. BIG mistake I have 1 major ruined
ruler and it is one of my larger square omnigrids (12-1/2x12-1/2).

I suggest you go and buy it and put it on every single ruler you own. I makes a huge difference!

I tried it but not impressed. But I love the Nexcare first aid tape by 3M. If you go to Bonnie Hunt's website http://quiltville.blogspot.com/2013/...-slippage.html you can see how she suggests you use it. BTW it's much less expensive than Invisigrip. And you can get the tape at most drug stores &/or WalMart.

GRIP strips are the best !!! I have the Invisigrip, sandpaper dots and the Creative rulers - creative rullers are awesome for griping but im not keen in the lines.. too confusing.. but my second go to is the GRIP STRIPS... those work the best for me, they seriously grip whereas the invisgrip will slide..

I received a package of Dritz "24 Clear Fabric Grippers" in a gift exchange a couple years ago, and finally used the last of them, so I will be buying some more. I put them in the middle third of the rulers, in a square to prevent sliding. They work just fine, and keep everything from moving while cutting. I have also tried the suction cup handles, and found they are great for cutting large amounts, but if I am cutting just a couple things I don't usually take the time to use them. Just my personal preference.

I have it on all my rulers. Not only does it keep them in place but also protects your cutting
lines so they don't fade away. It is wonderful...!

I purchased Nexcare clear tape and it helped, but I have the worst time with the 24 inch ruler. The end slips no matter what I do, so I put a heavy bowl on the end to keep it in place.

I love it. when I marking the quarter inch lines on my lemoyne star quilt I had the invisigrip 1//4 inch in from the edge and that little edge would line the fabric up wonderfully
