It needs a light or dark sashing, either one would work to make your colors pop. The problem with the brown is that it's too "middle of the road" in terms of both color and intensity. I think a dark color would work best.

Personally, I really like it, the tan makes the colors stand out and makes the quilt serene and cozy.

I think the tan when it touches the same tan in braid disrupts the eye & halts the flow. Another solid color would help & black or red would be my choice. Please post when decided & done! Wanna see!!

I think black would make the braids "pop". Or perhaps try a dark navy blue...............
