Boy the blocks are so pretty. I've never done a 'round robin' of sorts, so this is interesting. Had to do some housework, YUKKKK, but am going out to sew shortly. Need to put up my Christmas decos, just can't do it yet..lol

After much pondering about the center, I found this 22.5" block that my DD made a long time ago. I will be adding the darker border to make it 24.5 inches. For the first round I will be using Jaba's 1st border option. It should play well with the center.

WOW, those are all looking so good. Still have two more blocks to make, cut my center down to 24 1/2, but cooking & lunch got in the way, so back at it.

Well, everything is cut to size, blocks sewn together, all I have left to do is sew the block rows onto center square then a picture will be forthcoming.

Even though I'm not participating, I love seeing everyone's centers and how they are coming along. This is a great thread to follow!

Sandy: You know it's still not to late. This is only the first month, with many more to go.

Emma S love your star I am a sucker for paper piecing and stars love them so much every time I see a star I say oh I love that

works4me I love your kitty center and the border you chose is perfect for it!

CarolineS love your starter as well and I think you are right in adding that darker border will give it a good starting point for your pieced border that you choose.

Works4me. Great 9patch blocks. Cute the way the cats are peeking out.
---Currently working on my center. Will post when finished. This really got me going on a quilt I neeeeed to make (a gift). No sure when this will be over, but may have to add a round early to meet deadline. Want to use as many of the suggested rows as possible.
I have the book Borders & Beyond by Jill Reber. I thought I would name a few of the borders she has.
Easy--4 patch, squares in a row, rectangles(piano), basket weave, scrappy sawtooth, pinwheels
ones I would call harder--Diamonds in a row, flying geese, broken dishes
She also adds a row of regular blocks as a round.
