    If it were me, I'd use the Tube Quilting method, which goes so fast and is so fun, in masculine colors. There is a Bali Pop color called Cappuccino, which is very cool. Bali Pops are 2-1/2" strips - perfect for Tube Quilting. Here's a site for Tube Quilting:

    Here is a link for a free project from windham fabrics with a very nice "manly" quilt...this one is the old west, but you could use any "manly fabric" in place of the old west characters.

    I made one for my best friend, who is an over the road truck driver and I made it of a simple brickyard in his favorite colors. He is also a "professional" wrestler so, for the backing, I found a barbed wire printed fabric.
