Emma S- the first one is actually a bit dull. My cousin wanted all straight line quilting!

Narnia: Boring for the quilter but great for the quilt. I think my family would prefer the simpler, both in piecing and quilting, but its just not as much fun. I have never done just straight lines but I have done cross-hatching and I love the effect it gives.

I think I need to join in with y'all. I have my share of UFO's, WIP's, and PhD's. It will really help to clean out my sewing studio--so I can create more!! Perhaps make a list so I can be "Overwhelmingly Accomplished"!!

Thanks so much for this idea. I am using it to quilt a table runner and placemats that are very geometric for my DD (belated Christmas gift...blushing). You're right about it being easier than SITD and it makes the items lay very flat.

Wildyard, on those hearts, it is close to Valentines so wonder if it would be best to post over there on trade or sale. bet they would go fast.

nanna-up-north, do you think your UFOs would teach mine how to haunt? Maybe mine would get more attention if they knew how to bother me more, rather than sit so quietly as they do. LOL

QM... good suggestion, I think I am going to go ahead and do that. Hadn't even thought about the holiday aspect of them. Thanks for your suggestion!!

Wow, I'll definitely have to try this quilting. I always avoid SITD but this is very doable.
thanks for posting the picture

This was started in October...it was a Wisconsin Shop Hop. At each store (6 total) each person got 2 of the 10.5" squares to complete. The finishing kit and center could have been bought at any of the shops, but all stores made their own style center. This is mine...completed today I finally got to long arm and bind it. I also added my own embroidered label. Something different for me! New year new tradition!
