This a little off the subject, but if you Google---Super Sized Nine Patch by Anita Grossman you will find a method for making three cute baby quilts at one time. I have made these several times and you could probably have them all done by Feb 1st. It was orig. published in Quiltmaker. I usually buy 2 yards of three fabrics, then use 1 yard of each for the backing of the three quilts.

I used the All Hallows pattern that "brat" suggested. They show it in just 3 colors so I had major problems figuring out what was what to do it in more colors. Only cut out a couple of extra wrong size strips.

Jaba! me? a bat? the only way I could catch her is if she stood still for a beating. sigh.. no one ever does for some reason. My love always tells me when the zombie's start taking over the world he wants me to be the one to chase him. I said oh really? he says oh yes you cant run worth anything.. (ok he used another word). sigh I make a lousy zombie too! oh my.

I am so not ready for round two yet so you all ready and stomping your feet this is supposed to be fun adventurous.. evenly paced! lol.. I have a round robin I have to work on this week and its a big one as I am the last round I think so I have lots and lots of blocks to do. That entertwined ribbon that was shown by someone here a bit back I think I might try the quilt has a celtic feel, its all yellow, black with hints of green.. and I think it could work .. but.. now to measure and see if it will make those corners or not.. otherwise its plan b which I don't currently own.

I think that batik in browns oh wow how lovely that will be. of course , grins love that block so how could you go wrong? it was a fairly easy block for me lots of pieces but did mine in blues and green batiks and truly enjoyed the outcome of that one.

Dot what a grand batik center too! and whipping up those outside blocks already shoot your fast! remember everyone have fun do as much as you want at a time, do as little as your able but do something! its easier once you start I think.

I wanted to mention to those who have points missing and such, boy welcome to my club. that is one of my biggest fears. I found when just making regular blocks I always have to cut larger and trim down to perfect blocks because I simply cant sew perfect blocks. I need a 3.5 in finished hst block? I see cut 3 7/8th? I cut 4 or 4.1/8th because even with my 1/4 inch foot.. I do not get a perfect size block. so trimming down is my solution to everything. I have close to zero formal quilt training, no sewing training other than sit at that machine and put your foot here.. and also I do not get things easily .. I have to do them, do them, then do them again.. so be patient with yourself and your skills. I think they do improve over time and if you asked each and every one of us we have trouble doing something when it comes to quilting.. be it color choice, seams, reading directions, there is no one perfect here. Phew.. so drop that worry off your shoulders and have FUN!

I went out yesterday an purchase the F&P Half and Quarter ruler after making three test blocks of jaba's border option #1 without it. I could not get the rulers that I have to work. Lucky me I had a 50% Joannes coupon. I then decided that my original two color choices just did not play with the medallion. It is so hard for me to work with someone else's color palette. So the goal for today is to at least get the border blocks done.

The strips are cut and need to be sewn together. Had to do some grocery shopping today which I hate and wears me out. Tomorrow is another day.

sorry, i was trying not to get it tooo big. black and white. black and olive green on the hour glass blocks.

if you have a regular tri angle ruler that is Not F & P. maybe make your practice size tri by cutting the 5.25 square diagonally twice. then lay it on top of your triangle ruler/cutter. mine showed to cut a 3.5 " triangle. cut once, then flip the ruler over to get the next cut. i had to learn to pay attention to which was my bottom side as i flipped. it had been several years since i had used it.
