How wonderful that you found this treasure! It makes me so, so sad to think about all the work that went into this just to have it end up in a charity shop. Either it was an unwanted gift, or its creator passed away and the family had no use for it. Either way, it's sad. There is an elderly woman at my church that I help out once in a while, and she has several quilts her mother made (they may be a hundred years old by now, or close to it) that she doesn't know what to do with. None of her children or grandchildren want them.

Great find. BFF found a quilt at LQS closing down sale. It had a big mark on it but it came out easily and she has an heirloom quilt for $10.00.

Why can't I ever find things like that!! People at guild show quilts they find that are real treasures--like yours. Guess I am not lucky.
Glad you found it, and it is beautiful. Mariah

It was meant for you to give it the home it deserves.

Default Rescued quilt

That is a beautiful design. Would anyone know the name of the pattern?

Went into the linen are to see if I could find some nice cotton fabric and found a quilt instead. Someone spent so much time hand quilting this beauty...and I find it waiting for a new home in a charity shop.
That's OK...I love it. And it seems to like it's new home....and Tinkerbelle has decided that it is comfy...she has made her nest and snoozed for hours on it.
