    Thumbs up

    Fabulous idea and so organized!!!

I already had a legal sized file cabinet for fabric but I bought some more off Craig's list for $30 and instead of painting them (It's too cold out to paint) I used scrap book paper and duct tape to pretty them up.

I've been working on a scrap quilt project for a while and I had put out a call to all my sisters for any scraps they could donate to the cause. Not only got them from sisters but from Daughters in law too! (thanks Lisa!) Most of the piecing is done, but now I have all these scraps left over.....what to do with them....???? I made cloth bags that will hang in a file drawer. Just simple bags with squared off bottom and a casing for the hangers to slip into. I made the bottoms 8 inches wide and added a little elastic at the top to kind of hold things in a bit. Each drawer holds 3 bags with room to spare and each bag is the same color as the scraps it is holding. I think I have a few more scrappy quilts in my future!!!

We have recently retired from business. Now I know what to do with my spare fining cabinets.
Well done!!!!. I am thinking of you poor people and the freezing weather while ours is just the opposite.
    Great for making quilts though.

Perfect timing! My husband is cleaning out our garage and wants to get rid of an ugly five drawer file cabinet. I see a can of spray paint and some fabric storage in its future!

Your ideas are wonderful. I have a big file cabinet I've wanted to throw out. No way now.
