I have 8 or 9 blocks pieced, I'm getting a big towel to put on my lap to catch the shucked papers and put a good movie on

Each time as I sew a block I 'think' I know what I'm building and every single one has been a surprise when stitched together

ohhh, I like all those Alaska blocks. worked on mine today. got half of it done. boy does it take a long time. I was looking at all the pic's of the blocks to come. boy are they going to be tough. i'll have to go back and look at some finished quilts to make sure, this is all going to be worthwhile!!!!!

Question since I am a newbie to PP, can you use stablizer for your pattern, that way you do not have to tear out, or will it create too much bulk?

cjones--you would have to have a stabilizer that could be run through your printer so you have the lines for sewing on. Some of the pieces get a little small, so I would think it might be too bulky. Maybe others have tried and can give you better input....
