Linda: Your inner Brat is showing. I am so excited, it won't be long now. Working on the back of the Celtic Solstice quilt now, if no one minds I'll show it on this thread since the inspiration came from you Ladies.

Well I made more border blks this morning. Emma S, I did as you suggested and don't know why I didn't 'see' this before, I like it, it does frame the center pc. So guess I need to get my little Galaxy seam ripper fired up. It's the one that is battery run, will not cut your fabric as you rip the seams - it is great. lolo Here's another pic.

Ok, that is amazing how it frames the center. I wouldn't have "seen" it either but what a great idea. Makes the fabric work and create a very intricate illusion. Likeeeee....

Okay ladies went shopping for more fabric today and these are the ones I have chose to use in my second border on my quilt. The blue and green material bring out those colors in the panel blocks. What do you think

Badder: I think its a great idea to concentrate on the background colors first while they are so close to the original panel. If you wanted to bring out the orange, pink, or purple; there are plenty of rounds to do that without detracting from the center. I hate to be Badder than bad but couldn't you go ahead and put one of the suggested rounds on? After all you were just truing up the size of the original panel.

OKSewnsew-that turn of those blocks just makes your center stand out. I think it is a better choice.

This sounds like something I'd like to do. I will go through my orphan blocks today and see if I can find on I can use.

It never hurts to play with those little blocks, amazing how they can change the look of a quilt isn't it? Cindy be sure and post pics if you can, we all love the visual part.

floral fabrics are sorted by category on equilter.com love going to specific categories when your searching for specifics.. as to matching also do a specific type of flower search say on ebay.. daffodils ie and you then have a page of fabrics to put up against yours and say same type of background, do I want larger or smaller prints.. just a thought I shop both places as much lol as I can. I love the selection also at hancocks but find equilter easier to flip through. both have great spring flowers right now.

I love your center either way honestly oksewnsew. Think one is more dimensional and one is framed. Pbadder like your new colors maybe one larger print however or medium print might work too? all are tonal/blender types. Not picked your round yet so we will see what might be best or not. in that line of cat fabric was there not a background floral that went with it? seems to me she usually has a whole line of that fabric each time she comes out with a new one. even if its not new someone is selling some surely also what I don't find on ebay or at one of the lovely stores I find on etsy.. tons of older lines being sold there too.
