Default Alaska

Here's my Alaska. Although I'm slower than our one-a-week desires, I'm loving it! Thank you all for posting your pics and advice and encouragement. On to my next star.... Warm hugs to all on these chilly days, --J

Here is my Arkansas, I am trying to work ahead so thank you QuiltingNinaSue for posting what is due when. On a side note, I went to a quilting Retreat by myself put on by Quilting by the Bay this weekend in Panama City Beach, FL. Pat Wys was the guest quilter. It was wonderful! If anyone is ever considering a retreat by yourself, DO IT! I joined a wonderful group of ladies who were from NY and Maine. It was so much fun. If I had gone with quilting buddies it would not have been as unique. I would have never have met people from all over the country and Florida.

This may be a dumb question but... Should we remove the paper after finishing the block? I thought on Carol's CD she said wait until we sewed a row together. That seems like a real PITA to do. Is there any reason why we can't remove the paper after each block is completed?

Beautiful blocks--looking forward to more. Maggielou, I remove the papers as I finish each block and either store them on my design wall or flat so there's no stretching of the edges. I did a quilt once where I didn't remove the paper until the end and it was a PITA so never again.

Here are my Arizona & Arkansas blocks.

I plan on removing the papers as I go. Though, I haven't done so yet. I think if I was faced with it all at the end, it would be overwhelming. Thanks for posting this morning, I am headed to sit with my FIL at the hospital and this would be perfect to take along. As long as I'm careful with the papers.

I have been removing the paper before I stitch the sections together. I haven't had any problems yet.
