I wear an apron when I sew. It keeps all those little threads off my clothes.

I really need to start using aprons. Most of the cooking mess comes out of the clothes but not the dreaded bacon grease!

Love this thread! I learned to wear an apron when my "Cooking for Boys and Girls" cookbook's first instruction was to"wash your hands and put on an apron!" I was about 9or10. I wear them every time I cook or clean, so much so that my boys tell me I wear them "like a dress!" But they save my clothes and put me in the mood to work.

my favorite patterns come from Mary Mulari. I like the butcher style for its un fussy coverage and prefer them lined for the sturdiness and protection. But they have to be cute and cheerful, too! Love aprons!!! Lol!

I have always worn a apron. I just feel better when cooking and doing dishes to have one on. I usually buy mine. I like the heavier weight fabric so if my tummy does get wet at the sink the water doesn't immediately get through to my clothing. Some aprons can be beautiful!!

Aprons are another way to use the part of the bath towels that are still good. Since I have always dried my hands on my apron ever since I can remember, this works great for me.

I should make one for my DH. He is always in the kitchen cooking. I can't eat his cooking (too many strange concoctions), but it would be fun to make him an apron, although he probably wouldn't wear it.

I also wear an apron when I sew, and especially when I rip out.

I like all kinds of aprons but my favorite is the Cobbler Apron.

I usually make them reversible, because I am way to lazy to fiddle with bias binding
I just made one this w/e to wear when I am quilting to keep threads off my clothes. It is called Addys apron from seams and dreams patterns. It is a reversible pull over style with no ties. Seems to work ok so far. Had part was picking the fabrics! Lol
