I watched some of it. I really liked the tech stuff, lights etc. Also the swirling ladies with the long lights.

I was amazed at all the technology and engineering it took to put it all together. I thought it was beautiful. And a nice "interlude" from all the hoopla of some of the other opening ceremonies. There was one that to me was a bit on the garish side (I won't name the country as I am not positive I remember it correctly).

I thought it was fabulous and innovative! I LOVED the ballet sequence. They had so many wonderful dancers.

I always enjoy watching the opening ceremonies - I feel I learn so much about a country and what the world wants to see and know about themselves.

I watched most of the ceremony...but when it was over, I wondered how many hungry people that amount of money could feed.

I watched a little, but fell asleep. I did, however, read an article yesterday about how the man responsible for the 5th snowflake/ring not opening was found stabbed to death. I still have not been able to put my head around that one. I wonder if it's true or not.

I've always thought why not forgo the hoopla that means nothing and divide all that money to give the medal winners. They are the ones that earned it. There are reports slipping out of Russia about the awfulness being quieted.
