I saw a cute appliqued block on pinterest, and found the pattern, but hoping to get a similar one free.

I am enamored with Maine and want to begin a project with that theme -

any links, ideas, resources welcomed/ Thank you all

This is an original design copyrighted by Marcia Hohn, with this notice on the pattern: " This is an original pattern. Please abide by the Terms and Conditions of Use!" It means someone owns this design, so taking it without abiding by her terms is illegal, and well, wrong. Here are the conditions: http://www.quilterscache.com/TermsPage.html I don't see anywhere that you have to pay for it. You just have to abide by her request not to publish it or sell it. She accepts donations, but if I understand it correctly, you can make yourself a quilt with her pattern as long as you give credit to her and don't sell it or publish it. Thanks for the link - she has some really cool designs!

MO74 is looking for an applique pattern. The one by Marcia Hohn is a pieced pattern. I also would love to find a 'freebie' state of Maine applique.

I'm looking for quilt blocks named after each state, a different block for each of the 50 states (pieced or paper pieced). If you happen to have or know of a block named after your state, I'd love to have it. Please send me a PM.

Carol Doak also has her book 50 fabulous paper pieced stars. Each star is named for a state. There is a group here on the board doing it.

The 6th star in the 3rd row from the bottom is Maine I think.

Hi, If you haven't found a pattern try this website: www.p3designs.com Under the albums section are applique patterns for all 50 states. Beware -- if you like Baltimore Album type applique you will get lost in this site. I saw some of the State patterns while at Cottonseed Glory in Annapolis, MD today. This a great shop and well worth a visit if you are in the area. Best of luck and please let us see what you do.
