    Default Love and Devotion(oceanwaves mini)

Love and devotion is the name for my recently finished mini(17x23). Why? Because it took a lot of both to finish this pain in my keester! Not all the points are perfect but when they finish at 3/4 of an inch WHO CARES. Now I didn't cut these little pieces out just for making this quilt. They were those little corners you clip off. Before clipping I would stitch another line and end up with a sewn hst. Of course they had to be squared up. The quilt that's in the background is the quilt from which they came. Do you keep your little clippings? I've thousands of them in a bag with the grand plan to someday make a full size quilt. Well that was until I made this one. The block pattern is Ocean waves. So I wanted a name that had something to do with oceans, beach, waves, maybe flowers since they were clippings of flowers. Long story short Love and Devotion is part of a line from the song "Don't rock the boat". I've a new found respect for mini quilters, and I've learned that it really doesn't appeal to me very much.

But it's beautiful! You did a wonderful job on it! I wouldn't have the patience, I'm sure!

Your quilt is beautiful! Your comments made me chuckle. LOL Glad you could keep your sense of humor as well as patience. Don't know if I could. I have a bag of those little corners, too because it just seems a waste to toss them. I didn't know what to do with them but you have given me inspiration! someday...

Your quilt is really pretty both of them and I love the humor you found in doing it.

Anything I end up forcing myself to finish never seems to have the beauty this has, good for you. Mini quilting has never appealed to me but I thought I may try it someday anyway just to see thank you for the reminder that I probably do not have the temperament to finish let alone enjoy it.
