Today I received my Block magazine. It is more like a book, not a magazine. No ads. The pictures and diagrams are colorful and distinctive. Directions seem well written. I like the quilting videos but I also like written directions.

I have just the opposite thoughts about quilting magazines! I think the quilts showcased in most magazines are too MODERN / CONTEMPORARY (and so is most of the fabric at many quilt store, in my area, anyway). I'm fairly new to quilting but find I love learning and using new, fast time saving techniques to make quilts that look like the ones my grandma made.

Block is a very nice book no commercials and good instructions for the patterns and they tell you that you can also find the tute's to help you more. I know they had said that in future issues they will have other patterns not just the ones on utube. I think the book is done very well and Jenny is so good when showing you how to do things so down to earth so you can really understand how to do something she makes it easy I think. I've learned a lot from her. I just take her classes on Craftsy and her MSQ and now her book just like her. Sue

Got my block and read it from cover to cover to see want I might need to complete some of the quilts. I too think it is a soft covered book rather then a magazine. The paper quality will last years. I liked the little stories, they made me feel like Jenny was sharing some of her life history with me. I do have a signed copy of the first magazine and wish she had signed my first block. Got to get my husband to take me camping near her store so I can get my block signed.

I received my copy in today's mail. It is very high quality and certainly work the low price they are charging for each issue. It really does look more like a book then a magazine. I am very impressed!!!! It would make a wonderful gift for any quilter and especially a beginner.
